Dubai, UAE; June 26, 2008: Emaar Properties PJSC has won the ‘International Achievement’ award at the inaugural Arabian Property Middle East Awards 2008, while Emaar, The Economic City (Emaar.E.C) won the ‘Best Industrial Development’ award.

The International Achievement award honours the path-breaking growth of Emaar in expanding to 36 active markets globally. The Industrial Development Award for Emaar.E.C, the Saudi Arabian Tadawul-listed company in which Emaar is a key shareholder, recognises the efforts to create a robust industrial infrastructure through its flagship project – King Abdullah Economic City.

Dr Nader Mohammed, Regional Managing Director – International, Emaar Properties and Mr Imad Hashem, Senior Director – Communications & External Relations, Emaar.E.C, received the award from Mr Karam Awad, Deputy Managing Director, ITP Digital Publishing and ITP Executive Publishing, the Dubai-based media company that instituted the awards.

Dr Mohammed said: “The first International Achievement award at the Arabian Property Middle East Awards 2008 highlights Emaar’s evolution as a global lifestyle provider. Our expansion to 36 markets - supported by the business segmentation to include education, healthcare, financial services, shopping malls and hospitality & leisure – is in line with our Vision 2010 to become one of the most valuable companies in the world.”

Emaar Properties was the first property company in the region to be listed in the Financial Times Global 500 list last year, underscoring the growing global outreach of the company. Emaar, today, is developing master-planned communities in key markets in the Middle East and North Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and Asia. The company has expanded to the US and Europe through strategic acquisitions and partnerships.
