Emaar Malls Group redefines jewellery shopping experience at Gold & Diamond Park

Dubai, UAE, November 27, 2007: Emaar Malls Group, the shopping malls subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC, is showcasing Dubai Cut diamonds and purple gold jewellery in a series of exclusive value-additions at the recently expanded Gold & Diamond Park.

A gateway to the art of gold manufacturing and retail, the Gold & Diamond Park has also evolved as a one-stop shop that meets the jewellery requirements of several international markets. Unlike other gold retail destinations, the Gold & Diamond Park offers visitors the unique opportunity to witness, choose or suggest a design and take home the custom-designed jewellery piece.

Taher Badri, General Manager, Gold & Diamond Park, said: “Dubai enjoys a strong reputation globally as the ‘gold capital’ of the world. To give further impetus to the jewellery business in the region, it is important to introduce new concepts that sustain the interest of buyers, manufacturers and retailers. The expansion of the Gold & Diamond Park and the showcasing of concepts such as the Dubai Cut diamond and purple gold jewellery are steps in this direction.”

He added: “Apart from serving the gold and jewellery markets in the region, today the Gold & Diamond Park is also a one-stop hub for several international jewellery markets, which source their entire requirements from our retailers.”

Today, the Gold & Diamond Park has 90 gold and jewellery retailers – tripling its number since its establishment in 2001. There are 118 gold and jewellery manufacturing units where custom-tailored pieces can be quickly crafted onsite, a huge benefit for tourists who are visiting Dubai for a short period of time.

The innovative ‘Dubai Cut diamonds’ are laser-inscribed with a serial number and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity stating that the stone is mined, cut and polished to meet the highest quality standards. Purple gold, invented by Loh Peng Chum in Singapore, is developed at 10,000 degrees Celsius through a sophisticated manufacturing process known as vacuum pressure and is composed of 80 per cent gold and 20 per cent precious metals. The Gold & Diamond Park is the only place in Dubai were one can purchase purple gold.

The extensive range of manufacturing units on-site ensures that visitors to the Gold & Diamond Park are assured tailor-made services. “From gold and diamonds to pearls and gems, visitors can find what they come in search for at the Gold & Diamond Park though its extensive selection of stores,” added Mr Badri.

There are several cafés and a restaurant apart from several offices and commercial establishments at the Gold & Diamond Park. Conveniently located along Sheikh Zayed Road, the Gold & Diamond Park has a large courtyard and ample parking facilities. For more details, visit www.goldanddiamondpark.com.
